YASS 2007 - SET TO BE BIG

Yass is a knockout tournament that takes place over the Australia Day long weekend (27th and 28th January in 2007). It's a unique tournament where you can camp at the fields and have a few big nights on the drink whilst playing a little bit of Touch.

If you want to be a part of it then please get in touch with me by Wednesday 10th January. Email or call me and let me know if you want to play Men's/Women's or Mixed whilst down there. Everyone is welcome and the tournament caters for all abilities.

For all your Yass questions answered read on.

What is Yass? Basically, if you could condense Uni Games into two days then you would expect nudity, alcohol, projectile vomiting and a bit of Touch inbetween. Yass is the tournament that provides this.

Where is Yass? Near Canberra, about 3 hours drive from Sydney.

Where do we stay? The beauty of Yass is that you camp at the fields. Basically you get there early on the Friday afternoon and claim a bit of grass for your team. If you want to go soft then you need to book your own accommodation... best of luck with that.

Do I need my own tent? Whilst you do need a tent to sleep in, we normally have enough space to share. Just be warned that this may mean you will have to listen to other people pashing on all night.

What is the cost? The cost is $50-$60 and that includes rego, tent space, Referees, individual playing singlet and a few other pieces.

Do I need to be a awesome Touch player? No previous experience is necessary.

What teams are playing? There is a Club Mac Mixed, A UTS Mens and at least one or two Sydney Uni Mixed teams.

Do Uni Games rules apply for the drinking? We have our own special rules that apply to Yass only, however we cant tell you these untill you arrive and recieve your playing shirt.

Who do I need to conatact if i am interested? Either post in the message board or contact Victa on victa@touch.asn.au or call him on 0414535066. You need to confirm by Wednesday Jan 10th.
