So the cumbo boys smashed the main campus boys 5-1 and the girls both played very well in a 5-5 draw, brucey is a very proud beaver!

Funny you should mention purple beavers of scumbo scrubs. The origins of this mascot and team colour refer all the way back to the first EUGs where cumbo and main split.

What happened was that while the scumbo women were no longer playing for main campus they couldn't stop playing with the main campus men at night. These women had to accommodate the much larger numbers of main campus men, who also possessed members that were significantly larger than what the scumbo women were used to. Hence at the end of the first EUGs their beavers were black and purple from bruising due to over use.

Since that tournament sCumbo has represented themselves as the beavers in purple to remind that main campus always wins, and scumbo is always left as loose bruised loosers.

The rivalry is definitely back with a vengance but I beleive there is one difference Crim... after EUGs this year everyone will form one team again and be best of mates... whereas back in 2006 the rivalry never ended, but rather the club became more divided, especially at  BEAFs - instead of 'bloods vs. crips' the theme was 'main campus vs. cumbo'... AND it was NO surpise that cumbo won (see message postings under BEAFS nominations 2006)..

Cumbo will dominate on and off the field... it's a given!!! Deep down every main campus player wishes they could don the purple lab coat and proudly call themselves a Beaver...

While we all know scumbo secretly love coming back and joining Sydney Uni Touch at AUGs it's all just a bit of banter.
